How Odds Work on Spurt Plus – Reading the Numbers
Odds tell you both the probability of an outcome and what you'll earn if you're right. Spurt Plus displays odds in the format most familiar to Filipino bettors, and here's how each format works.
Decimal Odds — The Easiest Format to Calculate
Decimal odds show your total return per ₱1 wagered, including your stake. This is the default format on most Asian and Philippine betting platforms, and the one Spurt Plus uses.
Example: Odds of 2.50 on Manchester City to win means that for every ₱100 you bet, you receive ₱250 back if they win — a ₱150 profit on top of your ₱100 stake. The calculation is always: stake × odds = total return.
Odds below 2.00 mean the outcome is considered more likely than not (the favourite). Odds above 2.00 mean the outcome is considered less likely (the underdog). The further from 2.00, the stronger the implied probability in either direction.
Fractional Odds — Common in UK Sportsbooks
Fractional odds show your profit relative to your stake. They're less common on Philippine-facing platforms but occasionally appear on Spurt Plus markets tied to UK football competitions.
Example: Odds of 3/2 mean you win ₱3 for every ₱2 staked. On a ₱200 bet, that's ₱300 profit plus your ₱200 stake back, totalling ₱500. To convert to decimal: divide the top number by the bottom and add 1. So 3/2 = 1.5 + 1 = 2.50.
Even odds are expressed as 1/1 (also called "evens"). This means the bookmaker sees the outcome as 50/50 — a ₱100 bet returns ₱200 total.
Asian Handicap — The Smart Bet for Mismatched Games
Asian Handicap removes the draw from the equation and balances out a mismatch by giving the underdog a virtual goal head start. It's one of the most popular bet types among experienced Filipino football bettors.
Example: Liverpool -1.5 vs Burnley means Liverpool need to win by at least 2 goals for your bet to win. If you back Burnley +1.5, Burnley can lose by just 1 goal and you still win the bet.
Quarter-ball handicaps (e.g. -0.25 or -0.75) split your stake between two adjacent lines. This means you can win half your bet and push the other half, giving more ways to partially recover on close lines.
Accumulator Bets — Combine Matches for Bigger Potential Returns
An accumulator (or "acca") combines 2 or more individual match bets into a single wager. All legs must win for the accumulator to pay out, but the odds multiply together — turning modest individual odds into much higher potential returns.
Example: A 4-team acca at odds of 1.80 × 2.10 × 1.65 × 2.20 gives a combined odds of approximately 13.73. On a ₱500 bet that's a potential return of ₱6,865.
Accumulators are high-risk, high-reward — one wrong result ends the whole bet. Most experienced Spurt Plus bettors use them with smaller stake amounts as speculative plays rather than as their primary betting strategy.
